"I’m Tina, founder of Sericum et Luna. Sericum et Luna is a very small business, consisting of only me actually, and I am dedicated to providing exceptional handmade skin and body care using high quality, safe, sustainable, cruelty free, and ethically sourced ingredients. I believe everyone can have fabulous skin and that starts with clean skin so soap is my main focus at this time. Because I do use palm oil in most of my soaps, it’s very important to me that I know I am not contributing to the negative effects of palm oil production which is why Sericum et Luna is a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil. I make sure my palm oil suppliers comply with rigorous environmental and social criteria to help minimize the negative impacts of palm oil cultivation on both the environment and the communities in palm oil producing regions.

I’m a huge animal lover and cruelty-free products are really important to me so I’m excited to have applied for Leaping Bunny certification. I am wholeheartedly against animal testing and therefore make sure all my suppliers also reject animal testing so I can guarantee my products are 100% cruelty-free. In fact, not only do I have soap for people, but I’ve got a really great dog soap for our furry friends too. I am proud that I do all my own product formulations and while my customer base is small (hi Mom! Lol), I have 100% positive feedback from everyone who has used my products. And some of my customers aren’t even relatives! I’m excited to be able to live in different countries (I’m currently in Uganda) where I can use locally sourced ingredients and therefore invest in the local economy. Giving back is very important to me."
